  • No sealing is required. Some people apply mineral oil to darken the tone or even out the patina, but it’s optional. Soapstone is naturally low-maintenance and doesn’t need chemical sealers.

  • It’s softer than granite or quartz, so light scratches may happen. But they’re easy to sand out or blend in, and they add to the stone’s lived-in look over time.

  • Yes. Its resistance to moisture and staining makes it a great choice for bathrooms, laundry counters, utility sinks, and wet bars. It holds up in humid environments without breaking down.
